Your Safari Starts: A Journey through Kenya’s Wilderness

As your safari begins, you’re welcomed by the fresh morning air, the sounds of birds and distant wildlife, and the sight of a vast African landscape stretching before you.

Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park – Amboseli Sentrim camp (L D)

We will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel in the morning and after a short briefing, we will proceed to the world-famous Amboseli National Park and reach our camp in time for lunch. The afternoon will be spent in the park making game viewing. Overnight at Amboseli Sentrim Camp.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park – Amboseli Sentrim Camp (B L D)

The day will spend at Amboseli National park and make full day game viewing at the park. Picnic lunch will be taken at the Observation hill. This park jewel is not only a unique panorama of Mount Kilimanjaro, but also one of the best wildlife areas to observe elephants at close quarters. Amboseli is a small park with numerous zebras, wildebeests, Thomson gazelles, Grant gazelles, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, lions, cheetahs, jackals and hyenas. A highlight of the park is the Observation Hill, from which we will have a stunning view over the swamp and savannah landscape. You have the possibility to relax at the pool and to enjoy the view on Mount Kilimanjaro. Overnight at Amboseli Sentrim Camp.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru N Park – lake Nakuru Lodge (L D B)

Breakfast then drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Here, we visit Lake Nakuru as the most well-known lake of the Rift Valley. For being famous all over the world for its flamingos, the lake is one of the natural wonders of the world. At times, there are up to 2 million flamingos at the lake, which form a beautiful pink ribbon around the shore. In addition to seeing this amazing scenery, we also have a good chance of seeing rhinos and leopards. From our lodge we have a magnificent view over the lake.

Day 4: – Masai Mara National Reserve – Mtito Safari Camp (B L D)

Wake up for early morning game drives, breakfast, midmorning game drives then later we drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve considered as one of the largest and most beautiful protected areas of Kenya and reveal the originality of Africa. Lunch will be served at a restaurant on our way, proceed to arrive and check in at Mtito Safari Camp, eveningwill be spend at leisure, dinner and overnight at the Tented camp.

Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve – Mtito Safari Camp (B L D)

After breakfast, we will do a full day game drives in the Masai Mara National Reserve. This park is famous for its savannah landscapes and its wildlife concentration per square km. The prospects are good to observe all those fascinating animals that can usually only be seen in numerous nature documentaries. We will have a picnic at a site in the Mara River, bordering the Serengeti. The river is part of the Masai Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, which is particularly known for the largest wildlife migration on earth in the world. Every year, Wildebeests, zebras and antelopes form a huge animal trains cross the brown, foaming river full of crocodiles.

Day 6: – Masai Mara National Reserve – Mtito Safari Camp (B L D)

It is yet another day spent in this paradise of wild animals, try your chances to watch the wildebeest as they cross the crocodile invented Mara river among other predators, this is a real natural phenomenon which is experienced every year brings thousands of the animals to Masai Mara. All the meals and accommodation at our tented camp.

Day 7:- Lake Naivasha – Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge (B L D)

After breakfast we drive to Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha, the highest and most beautiful lake in the Rift Valley, where especially the bird-watchers, with over 400 documented bird species will be pleased. Enjoy a boat tour at the lake where you see birds and hippos, Overnight and dinner at Lake Naivasha sopa lodge.

Day 08: Lake Naivasha – Nairobi – Nairobi activities ( excursion) (B L )

After breakfast we will drive to Nairobi. Here we have visit the former administration house of the Danish author Karen Blixen, where we will have lunch. Karen Blixen was known for the film adaptation of her novel “Africa, alluring dark world” and “Out of Africa” with Meryl Streep and Robert Redford in the lead roles. Visit Giraffe center and feed the tallest animals on earth, After lunch visit Kazuri beads factory where you can have some shopping for your gifts to take back home or shopping in the nearby shopping malls, in the evening we will visit the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Trust where you will make an adoption of a young orphaned Elephant, get more information about how the Trust takes care of the orphaned and the injured Elephants, after words we will take drop you at your Nairobi Hotel or to the Airport for your flight back home.

Dry Season (June to October) – Best Time for Wildlife Viewing

  • Weather: These months are cooler and drier, which makes wildlife easier to spot as animals gather around water sources.
  • Great Migration: This is the peak of the wildebeest migration in the Maasai Mara, especially between July and October. This is a highlight for many visitors.
  • Wildlife Viewing: Since vegetation is less dense, animals are more visible in the open savannah, and predators are more active, making this the best time for general game viewing.
  • Temperatures: Daytime temperatures are usually mild, ranging from 24°C to 28°C (75°F to 82°F), with cooler mornings and evenings.

 

2. Short Rainy Season (November to December)

  • Weather: Occasional short rains, usually in the form of afternoon showers, but still lots of sunshine.
  • Wildlife Viewing: The rains can make animals a bit harder to spot, but it’s a quieter time to visit, and many areas are lush and green, which offers a different perspective.
  • Benefits: Fewer tourists, and some safari lodges and camps offer lower rates during this season.
  • Temperatures: Temperatures can range between 20°C and 28°C (68°F to 82°F).

 

3. Long Rainy Season (March to May) – Low Season

  • Weather: This is the wettest period in Kenya, with frequent and intense rains, making some roads difficult to travel, especially in remote areas.
  • Wildlife Viewing: The rain can create a more challenging safari experience as animals tend to spread out more and are harder to spot. However, birdwatching is excellent during this time as many migratory birds are in Kenya.
  • Benefits: The rainy season is the least crowded time of year, and many lodges offer significant discounts, which can make for a more budget-friendly trip.
  • Temperatures: Similar to the short rains, temperatures range from 20°C to 28°C (68°F to 82°F).

 

4. Shoulder Season (January to February)

  • Weather: This is generally a dry period, with warm to hot temperatures and little rainfall. It’s often considered one of the best times for safaris.
  • Wildlife Viewing: During this period, game viewing is excellent as animals gather around water sources. The landscapes are still lush and green from the rainy season, but the grass is shorter, making wildlife spotting easier.
  • Temperatures: This is the hottest time of year, with temperatures averaging between 25°C and 30°C (77°F to 86°F).
