One of the best holidays we've ever had, full of unforgettable memories! - We decided to book our safari trip with Best Memory Safaris, as their program fit best what we'd wished to see in Kenya for a reasonable price. It turned out... read more to be the perfect choice!
We booked a 15-day trip with 10 days of Safari and 5 days of beach holiday in Diani Beach. The detailed trip offer was prepared by Isaac, who has been extremely helpful and flexible, as he answered all our questions, provided additional tips and adjusted the trip offer to our individual needs.
After arriving to Nairobi, we were picked up on the next morning by our guide Patrick. Patrick has been absolutely fantastic guide and we became friends as our journey went along. He had impressive knowledge of animals and high determination to show us as much as he could of the Kenyan wildlife. He also taught us a lot about Kenya - its culture, history and everyday life.
The safari part of the trip was truly amazing - we saw a lot of animals (including the Big 5), sometimes from a very close distance. In addition, we had opportunity to talk to local people (mainly Masai) and learn directly from them about harsh but fascinating life in the Kenyan wilderness. We visited following parks/wildlife sanctuaries: Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Amboseli, Ziwani Voyager Wildlife Sanctuary, Taita Hills Sanctuary and Tsavo East. Before coming to Kenya we started to have doubts whether the program is not too fully packed, but then we realized that it was thoughtfully arranged by Isaac: each place had something special to offer, each was a bit different from the other ones in amazing way. We also could appreciate the incredible variety of landscapes and climate zones in Kenya. Also all hotels were located in beautiful settings, had fantastic service quality and very tasty food.
The final part of the holiday, 5-night stay in luxurious (but not posh) sea resort at Diani Beach allowed us to relax and get some sun before coming back home. The place was also fantastic, with hotel having all types of facilities to ensure its guest enjoy their stay and Diani Beach having clean water and beautiful, wide, sandy beaches.
To sum up, we had truly fantastic holiday, which we will remember forever and we want to thank very much Isaac and Patrick for that. We hope to come back one day and we can absolutely recommend Best Memory Safaris to everyone.

January 15, 2023Simply outstanding! - Researching, organising and paying for a Safari to a company based in Kenya when you are in the UK can be somewhat daunting but you can rest assured that with... read more Best Memory you can trust them to deliver what they promise. Our expectations were totally exceeded.
Isaac was helpful and responsive from day 1. Helping us to determine the best itinerary for our 10 day Safari and following stay at the beach. Answering all questions quickly and reassuring us that the vegetarian in our party would be well catered for (he was!). Of course, it is daunting to send large amounts of money to a Kenyan bank account
we all know the stories of internet scams.but this is definitely a company you can trust.
The Safari itself was simply incredible. Our driver Anthony was recommended in lots of reviews we had read previously and we were lucky that our request to have him specifically was possible. Such a genuine, knowledgable, lovely and all round caring man with outstanding skill at finding the animals. He planned our days perfectly and I can honestly say that I don’t think there is an animal that lives in those parks that we have not seen! An absolute privilege and pleasure to spend 10 days of our trip with him 🙂
The lodges were all good quality with a decent choice of food and nice facilities. Obviously WiFi and availability of hot water varied but hey, this is Africa!
One word of advice - opt for the private Land Cruiser if you can, it’s totally worth it to be able to plan your days as you want without having to match requirements with other people.
August 19, 2022What an amazing trip! - We did a nine day safari with Best Memory Safaris. It was an exceptional experience and I don't use that word lightly. The parks were all very thought out,... read more the price was exceptional and the service was second to none. The driver Patrick was knowledgable, very friendly and made sure that we were really well looked after. One night for my girlfriend's birthday we had a private dinner in the bush where a group of hotel staff wished her a happy birthday with a lovely cake. Isaac is also very attentive and responsive.
We were already planning our next safari with Best Memory Safaris while we were on safari and will definitely use them again. Words really do not do it justice - you have to do it for yourself. The trip exceeded our already very high expectations.

July 17, 2023Rolling back the years. A Brilliant holiday. - What a fantastic holiday! Huge thanks must go to Isaac for listening to bewildering list of ‘must have’ wishes, along with the ‘half-baked fantasies’ that we had floated past him,... read more and assembling an itinerary that ticked virtually all our boxes. We had a Ball!
Just a little background information. My wife Jane was born in Nairobi in 1953, the 3rd child of a canny Scotsman and a gentile English lady who had farmed an estate in Rongai, just north of Nairobi. Until the age of 7, when the family returned to the UK, Kenya had been all she had ever known. She spoke more Swahili than English, her main friends were the farm workers and their families, and her fondness for the country has endured over the years.
In 2014, now aged 60, we visited Kenya for the first time since she was 7, and a family group of 6 of us set out to discover what had become of the farm, to visit the church that her mum had helped to build, and to visit a conservation on the Masai Mara, and to have some R&R in a resort in Zanzibar. A very successful trip that had us promising to return.
Roll forward to mid 2022, having endured Brexit, and Covid lockdown, Kenya was calling again, and an e-mail from an English ex-pat still living in Kenya came up with a recommendation for Isaac and Best Memory Safaris, so the adventure began.
Last time, we mostly flew between the destinations as we only had a two-week holiday, and felt that we missed out on seeing a lot of real Africa, so this time we wanted to go overland, to see more of the character and cultures, and to work our way to the coast via a number of wild life conservation areas. Our trip took us through Amboseli, staying for 2 nights at Kibo Safari Camp, where opening the flap of our luxury tent gave us an uninterrupted view of Kilimanjaro. Then to Ziwani Camp in Tsavo Park West, with its dam with hippos and crocodiles just metres away from our accommodation. On to Tsavo East, staying at Ashnil Aruba Lodge where the restaurant overlooked the lit waterhole, visited by all sorts of wildlife – constantly changing. There was such a lot to see – a highlight was standing in our vehicle, quite literally just metres of 7 lions, who sat on both sides of the track while we took some brilliant photos. The whole safari experience was made so much more interesting by Anthony, our guide, whose contributions and knowledge of the species, the terrain and his obvious national pride gave us such a good insight. He was like a guide, a wildlife expert, a history teacher and a storyteller, all rolled into one!
Then, leaving the parks behind, it was time to travel to the coast, where we had been booked into the Diani Sea Resort. With nothing negative to report, it was a very pleasant, comfortable resort, with good, friendly service - perfectly acceptable for our holiday, as, I’m quite sure, would have been the case with many of the similar resorts along that long stretch of Tiwi Beach with its white sands and warm Indian Sea, camels and hawkers. In case that sounds ominous, it has to be said that the hawkers were invariably friendly and polite, and unlike some other places we have been to, were not aggressive or persistent, and moved on with a smile. All in all, a great place to relax and unwind. But we did also have a mission in mind!
Back in the 1950’s, when the family farmed in Kenya, they used to come to the Diani Beach area, where they had a holiday house right next to the beach. When they left, it was sold, but over the years, various family groups had tried, and failed, to rediscover the exact location of the house, so this time it was our turn to investigate the location. Our safari driver, Anthony had volunteered to help, and once again he did not fail us. It took a lot of exploring and talking to local people, and ended up with us giving a lift to a family of 6, (mother and 5 children) who led us to the exact spot. A little bittersweet because the house was now a ruined shell, but still recognisable from old pictures. But what a feeling to walk down the stone steps and set foot on a deserted beach that had been her playground nearly 70 years earlier. Pure Magic.
So, more of a personal story than a holiday review, but all made possible by the care and attention to detail that Isaac and Best Memory Safaris put into making our holiday one that will stay with us forever. Without a second’s hesitation we would recommend talking to this company if you are planning to visit Kenya. They have all of the so-important local knowledge and the experience to organise and deliver a trip tailored to your requirements. Isaac makes it happen - all you need to do is turn up – and enjoy it!
February 14, 2023Everything we could ever dream of - Just do yourself a favour and go on this tour. Isaac was AMAZING at communicating, he was open to changes that we wanted to make, answered all our questions and... read more best of all was super QUICK with his responses. Our driver Patrick was the best driver you could ever ask for. He knew so much about the African landscape having done countless tours and he always had a big smile on his face. We saw all the big 5 including cheetahs running up to our 4WD and even a leopard which many people who I know who have been on safaris several times were not so lucky to see. Overall amazing experience thank you so much!! Be sure to request Patrick as your driver!!!
