Your Safari Starts: A Journey through Kenya’s Wilderness

As your safari begins, you’re welcomed by the fresh morning air, the sounds of birds and distant wildlife, and the sight of a vast African landscape stretching before you.

Day 1: Tsavo East. – Sentrim Tarhi Camp
We pick you up from your hotel and drive directly to Tsavo East National Park, home of the “Red Elephants”. Once we have passed the gate, we are already on our first game drive. We will reach the Sentrim Tarhi Camp in time for lunch. Time at leisure before going back to the park for the afternoon game drives; visit the Aruba Dam which impounds Voi River to a small lake attracting thirsty animals of the Taru Desert. Equally impressive is the diversity of resident bird species which includes hornbills, eagles, kingfishers, weavers, giant bustards, storks and marabou. At sundown we return to the Sentrim Tarhi Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Amboseli – Amboseli Sentrim Camp
Since the opportunity to observe the animals in the wild in the early morning is especially large, we will go on an early safari. After breakfast we will proceed to the world-famous Amboseli National Park. This park jewel is not only a unique panorama of Mount Kilimanjaro, but also one of the best wildlife areas to observe elephants at close quarters. The incredible abundance of animals at the foot of the highest mountain in Africa is an amazing experience. After this spectacular safari, we return for dinner and overnight at the Amboseli Sentrim Camp.

Day 3:Tsavo West – Ngulia Safari Lodge
After breakfast we proceed to Mzima Spring, where hippos and crocodile are residents, we enjoy the landscape on our walk with rangers to see hippos and crocodiles and can easily watch the animals from a specially built underwater viewpoint, there after we proceed on game enroute to Ngulia safari lodge, arriving in time for lunch. After lunch we have afternoon break, followed by evening game drive through the Savannah, the Acacia forest and through the volcanic Mountains, we may come across Giraffes, Elephants, Baboons and other different species of animals. In the Rhino Sanctuary we have the chances of seeing Rhinos and Leopards. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 4:Tsavo West – Mombasa

Best Weather

June to October

Best Weather

March, April and May (Peak of the Wet season)

Dry Season (June to October) – Best Time for Wildlife Viewing

  • Weather: These months are cooler and drier, which makes wildlife easier to spot as animals gather around water sources.
  • Great Migration: This is the peak of the wildebeest migration in the Maasai Mara, especially between July and October. This is a highlight for many visitors.
  • Wildlife Viewing: Since vegetation is less dense, animals are more visible in the open savannah, and predators are more active, making this the best time for general game viewing.
  • Temperatures: Daytime temperatures are usually mild, ranging from 24°C to 28°C (75°F to 82°F), with cooler mornings and evenings.

2. Short Rainy Season (November to December)

  • Weather: Occasional short rains, usually in the form of afternoon showers, but still lots of sunshine.
  • Wildlife Viewing: The rains can make animals a bit harder to spot, but it’s a quieter time to visit, and many areas are lush and green, which offers a different perspective.
  • Benefits: Fewer tourists, and some safari lodges and camps offer lower rates during this season.
  • Temperatures: Temperatures can range between 20°C and 28°C (68°F to 82°F).

3. Long Rainy Season (March to May) – Low Season

  • Weather: This is the wettest period in Kenya, with frequent and intense rains, making some roads difficult to travel, especially in remote areas.
  • Wildlife Viewing: The rain can create a more challenging safari experience as animals tend to spread out more and are harder to spot. However, birdwatching is excellent during this time as many migratory birds are in Kenya.
  • Benefits: The rainy season is the least crowded time of year, and many lodges offer significant discounts, which can make for a more budget-friendly trip.
  • Temperatures: Similar to the short rains, temperatures range from 20°C to 28°C (68°F to 82°F).

4. Shoulder Season (January to February)

  • Weather: This is generally a dry period, with warm to hot temperatures and little rainfall. It’s often considered one of the best times for safaris.
  • Wildlife Viewing: During this period, game viewing is excellent as animals gather around water sources. The landscapes are still lush and green from the rainy season, but the grass is shorter, making wildlife spotting easier.
  • Temperatures: This is the hottest time of year, with temperatures averaging between 25°C and 30°C (77°F to 86°F).
